This policy describes how G3NR8 AI Systems Inc. (operating as "G3NR8 AI"; "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects information in connection with the Aside Android app (package ai.g3nr8.aside) and the g3nr8.ai website. Aside is an accessibility-first voice and text assistant for Android, powered by OpenAI's gpt-5-mini.

Aside listens for the wake word "Hey Aside" on-device. Wake-word detection runs entirely on your phone — no audio leaves the device until the wake word is heard. Once Aside is activated (by wake word or by tapping to talk), the audio of your spoken request is sent to our backend at aside.g3nr8.ai for transcription and to generate a response. We do not record audio when Aside is idle.
The text of your turn (your transcribed speech or typed message) and Aside's response are processed by our backend and forwarded to OpenAI's API (model: gpt-5-mini) to produce the answer. Conversation turns are logged on our server for up to 30 days for abuse prevention and quality monitoring, then deleted. We do not use your conversations to train AI models.
When you ask Aside to perform an action — call someone, send a message, set an alarm, navigate, play music — the app reads the relevant on-device data (contacts, calendar, recent communications, installed apps) to fulfil the request. This data is processed on your device. Summaries needed to answer your question are sent to the backend; raw contact lists, message bodies, and similar bulk data are not transmitted.
Aside remembers preferences and prior context to behave consistently across conversations ("memory v2"). This memory is stored on your device. A minimal mirror is held on the backend to support continuity across reinstalls; you can clear it at any time from within the app or by emailing us.
Aside requests Android permissions only for features you use. Common ones include: RECORD_AUDIO (microphone for wake word and turns), READ_CONTACTS / READ_CALL_LOG (calling, messaging actions), READ_CALENDAR (scheduling), POST_NOTIFICATIONS (replies). Each is requested in context, and you can revoke any of them in Android Settings at any time.
Aside does not require an account. Each install is identified to the backend by a per-install authentication token; we do not collect your Google account, advertising ID, IMEI, or device serial number.
The g3nr8.ai marketing site collects the email address you submit to the beta waitlist, plus standard server-log information (IP, user agent, request path) needed to operate the site. Waitlist entries are stored in our backend and used only to contact you about Aside access. The site does not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics trackers.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your conversations or audio to train AI models, and our service providers are contractually prohibited from doing so.

Aside is not directed at children under 13 (or under the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Traffic between Aside and our backend is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). The backend server is access-controlled and runs on hardened infrastructure. We can't promise perfect security, but we take reasonable technical and organizational steps and disclose material breaches as required by applicable law.
Our backend is hosted in Germany. If you use Aside from outside the EU, your information will be transferred to and processed in Germany and (via the OpenAI API) in the United States. We rely on standard contractual clauses where applicable.
We will post material changes here with an updated date. Continued use of Aside or g3nr8.ai after a change indicates acceptance of the revised policy.
